5th May 2012, Bacau Romania

Almost one week has passed since we arrived at the “George Apostu” Cultural Centre in Bacau, Romania.

An amazing site which looks over the river Bistrita, which used to be one of Nicolae Ceausescu’s guest house. After the revoloution the Ministry of the Culture took it over and runs it as a cultural centre.

The frogs in the river sing beautifully through out the night. At times a bird fly over them –  the sudden silence – until the concert gradually starts all over again.

The people in the Centre are soooooo helpful. We feel grateful.

Also there are two Romanian young artists who will be here in residency, same time as us, Larisa and Ana. It is really nice to spend time with them. They also provide us some insight into life society and history of here.

I came here with an idea to perform outside a lot. But after arriving i am more prone to work half in the studio, half outside. First of all, it is extremely hot and the sun hurts during daytime, the best time to dance outside will be in the evening, the magic hour before the sunset. I have discovered already around 5 sites I would like to dance. A square stage next to the river, the garden of the art high school, A bench on the island and etc. I do not have a clear idea how people react to my dance in public places. Let’s see…

To be surprised, to welcome, to get involved in the others’ business, a molecules river , an offering.
